[NTLK] cannot use .local address in Newt's Cape

this has worked for me in the past, but now it has stopped working. i
am trying to connect to my laptop's web server from my newton by
entering http://computername.local:port/, but i get an error that there
is "No response from my DNS server".

i can connect to the same laptop with Dock using TCP/IP and zeroconf
name lookup. i can connect to the same laptop by entering its IP
address (10.0.1.3). my wireless network is set up using an Airport
Express.

any ideas?
