Well you know you can get a adapter to play VHSC tapes in a VHS VCR.
Then you could use a friends VCR to make the copy, even if you can't get
the camcorder working. The adapters are available at Radio Shack or
Walmart for $10 last I looked.
You can try fastwarding the VHSC tape to the end and then rewinding to
the start. That sometimes fixes tapes if they have stretched. If it is
a tracking issue there should be buttons on the top for tracking. Or a
dial on the side.
