Hey Folks -

I have been out of town but I wanted to post about blue backlights. I had Ferdi install them in a pair of Newtons and eMates for me along with a bunch of other mods: headphone, clock chip, new powercels. I think he did a really great job.
The blue is extremely cool working very well in low light situations and in darkness. I have always had a bit of trouble seeing (hugely nearsighted until Lasik) and the contrast in varied light is not as strong as I would prefer, so I think I am going to ask him to swap a white backlight into one of the newtons and see which I can see better. He explained that the wavelength of the green background is much more visible in varied lighting than the blue and I could see where that might be the case with white as well.

If you don't have trouble with vision, I would bet that you would really like it. I would love to hear more white backlight experience.

Cheers!

Christian
