It will do the job better than the bult-in names app, but I don't know
if it's what you want.
In AN, when you open a meeting slip, you can write in part of a name in
your address book, and tap the "lookup" icon. Next, you tap the diamond
popup, and choose the name you want. Next, you have to tap the routing
envelope, and tap on "Look up Namecard" from which it opens the name in
the Address Book. It doesn't show it, nor allow editing the info from
within AN, or from within the Names app, but it is rather
quick--quicker than doing a hilite the name/Search/ Selected.../ type
of search.
I've used AN for years, and have not felt it to be too much of a
hassle. :-)
