[NTLK] Reading PC format... a theory...

This is a what if... just something I thought of the other day...

Conversion between Newton and PC file systems are different beasts
right now. The best general applications we have getting around this
currently seem to be somehow DOWNLOADING the file from the PC format to
the Newton format. Transfer speeds over a serial link for file
transfer is 56K, and 115K over Appletalk?

Naturally within the Newton, much like transferring from hard
drive to hard on a computer with two hard drives, the speeds are much
much faster.

What if there was some way to put something on a PC formatted ATA
card and have a patch so that like EE Terminal or the Newton Connection
could look at the files on that card and download those files onto
another store.

Granted the Newton itself cannot currently read the PC format, but
what if there was a application where you could browse the file format
and download from it? Kinda like how the Newton connection shows the
actual drives and folders on a Mac or PC and then select them for
download?

We have the means to read ATA cards, and the means to download
information from a PC format. Any way we could bring these two together?
