Well.. its not going to link up right away.. you need to open a connection..such as check your email... browse.. sounds like everything is normal to me.... go into your internet setup.. and make a new connection for that card... and try to connect and see if you get a link light..

I use a (3Com) 3C589C card, and it works perfectly. I tried the 'D' version
previously (we had a bunch at work), but I couldn't get it to work.

I suggest that you try to exchange it for a 'C' card.
