Can I say that when I joined this community very recently, the kind of
contribution that I thought I was going to make was that of a
committed, fledgling developer. The kind of inspiring contribution that
Eck, and Paul have made. That is what I aspire to. Beyond consuming
existing stuff, but to actually make new stuff. To go to Paris. *Not*
this kind of contribution. But for those of you that "second" and
"agree" with taking this important discussion off list , you simply
reinforce the offence by letting it ride.
The Newton community is not about little green boxes, or this or that
protocol or technology, but about it's *people*, absolutely. Why else
would it still be around? That is why I was attracted.
I'm sorry for those who cannot get beyond thinking "it was meant as a
joke". If you think that equating Africans with a sub-human species in
"jest" is amusing... well. Many of you clearly miss the scale of the
offence.
Thank you, those with the perception to support me! This issue is
*over* for me, now. I am glad it has happened, because it was important
for you to see. Those who will bandy around ugly, flippant words: now
you know. Jared: I am not trying to bash you. Let us break bread if we
are to co-exist in the same space. Okay?

And can we all keep our little prejudices locked away?? Thank you.

Ikem.
