In all likeliness the hinge springs have punctured the
display ribbon cable. If you can solder under a microscope,
this can be fixed about 5 times out of 6. Be aware that what
you'd be soldering will happily melt away if you don't do
it right, and it can hardly be seen at all with the naked
eye.
You can also spend USD 49 on a new eMate cable (see my
review at www.pda-soft.de/ematecable.html), in that case
all you'd have to do is fix the hinges.
In a nutshell: Please leave at least one for Woody so that
we will have a demonstration unit at the WWNC...
