in addition to heap (which others mentioned), another issue to consider
is storage memory in general. you say "1.3K internal memory free, 9.2K
free on a memory card". depending on which is your "default store" (or
which you've set for caches), that's really not much space at all
(maybe one small graphic or tiny web page; Google main page is in fact
quite small 2.5K). so it's very possible that even if you had enough
heap, Newt's Cape would run out of "file" space trying to cache larger
pages/images, and the system isn't "throwing" an error condition...
I'd suggest trying again when you've got more space on your current
system, and/or your new MP2100.
