True it will convert it to a certain extent, but it is much better if you
convert it in Photoshop first. Unless it is a really simple image to start
with. BTW- to do greyscale you must have Press in MP2000, MP2000landscape
or Emate version (setable in preferences) then add the image.

OK i have made lots of backgrounds for my newt and i can honestly say i dont
change them from color to gray scale or black & white. i simply drop them
into newton press at the correct size and it seems to get converted for me
there. try it once and see if it works for you. i also use bitmaps if that
matters.
