I've got three Duos, a PB1400 and two Pismos. I can't get any of them to
stay awake when the lid is shut. That said, I could hack the Duos pretty
simply so that they stay open, and I think the 1400 is also easy to hack. I
don't remember how the Pismo knows it's shut. It may be harder to hack. But,
out of the factory, I haven't found any simple method to make any of these
Apple PowerBooks stay awake... Did somebody ever write a hack to do so?
(considering there is hardware installed, I bet it isn't easy)

A consideration that I have read before is that they can get quite hot if
run while closed...
