Actually, Apple's Quicktakes came out later, but before consumers (even
the average geek) made the switch to digital.
The Quicktake was launched in Feb of 94 (Macworld Tokyo I think...).
Kodak had consumer digital cameras out before then, and I know there
were digital cameras before that still...
Interesting cameras, but nowhere NEAR good enough for printing on
anything higher than a 4x3 (if that..). Most digital cameras of the
Quicktake era were little more than technology demos, but the one thing
they were really good for was taking pictures meant for the web. The
digital cameras meant a much faster workflow than the regular film
(which had to be developed).
