Reminds me of my best friend who waited overnight to get one of the first ZZ
Top - Eliminator Vinyls on a High School night. He was so tired that he
placed the album in the rear window of his classic (even then, 1984) 1968
Oldsmobile Cutlass S, with the obligatory Rocket Fire 455 Big Block. Well
medium story shorter, by lunch time the album was as wavy as the
cheerleader's Farah Faucet hair styles, still sealed in the wrapper! He had
to wait until the second pressing to hear it!

You can also make a decent LP sound noisy with a badly balanced tone arm...
If you are hearing all kinds of noise, check that tone arm. Plus, if you are
hearing it, you are damaging your LPs, which you don't want to do...
