I did write a novel on my Newton, and Newton Notes does a fine job. I
also had BigNotes installed, as well as a little wordcount utility.

BigNotes is highly recommended (at least by me) - you still have to
start new notes periodically because when notes get too big the newton
slows down dramatically, but at least you can start new notes when you
decide to, not when the Newton interrupts you in the middle of a thought
(and sentence!) to say your note is too big and you need to start
another one.

That's the problem with world domination. Nobody is willing to wait for
it anymore, work slowly towards it, drink more and enjoy the ride more.
