the hardware is a commodity. If you don't replace or
upgrade your computer at least every 3 years, you'll
be so far behind the curve, nothing will run on your
machine!
And honestly? I like everything that is in my "box".
But I just upgraded my CPU to 1.1Ghz on my main
knock-around machine and then overclocked it to 2ghz
(I have a liquid cooling system to keep the CPU from
toasting). All the innards are the same...RAM, video

I have often wondered about getting such a cooling system. But liquid and
electronics generally don't mix. I would be afrade of leaks. Probably
preaty rare but still there is a risk.
