I get the very same problem in Classic with Panther, whatever PICT
picture I open or I paste. If I paste it, it appears, but as soon as
I hit the Title button, it crashes.

At some point, Sean said that NewtonPress only worked in MacOS 9
(i.e. that you had to restart in 9).
