[NTLK] eMate can't connect to 'net

Hi all,

I'm having trouble getting my pair of eMates online. I've installed
NIE 2 and the drivers for LocalTalk/MacIP and Ethernet. I've also
got the 3c589 driver installed for my 3c589C and the WaveLAN driver
for my Lucent Silver. No matter which connection I use (MacIP via
LocalTalk, Ethernet via WaveLAN, or Ethernet via 3c589C), I cannot
connect to a network.

My MacIP setup is a bit wacky - I've got a PowerMac running
IPNetRouter and LocalTalk bridge that serves up a MacIP network just
fine for my PowerBook Duos (I have to manually assign IP addies, but
that's no problem). The PowerMac is hard wired to a Linksys router
and thence up to the ISP's local network, router, & firewall, and
thence to the Internet.

For non-IP, I've tried to connect wired & wirelessly to my Linksys
router (4 port switch & wireless AP). I've tried DHCP and manual IP
assignment. The settings are all correct as they work flawlessly for
my many Macs on my LAN and WLAN.

The problem is that when I use DHCP, neither eMate will get an IP
address from the router. When I specify the IP (MacIP or ethernet
wired/wireless), I can't resolve any domain names.

I installed _everything_ in NIE 2.0 from Apple, and I'm pretty sure I
haven't missed any of the 3rd party drivers.

FWIW, I'm using Courier0.5, Net Hopper, and SimpleMail all to the same effect.

Can anyone tell me what's going on here?

Peace,
Drew
