No, the wireless clients use the linux box as a gateway.

I'm still not sure why. I really can't see anything wrong with the setup
I've got. I'm currently betting on the AP not supporting Appletalk. The
mac is here, but I don't think troubleshooting is going to happen to
night. After all, it was accompanied by my girlfriend...
