The problem with interspersing your comments in quoted email is, well,
your client wasn't quoting. That is, your client quotes with a header,
like this:

----- Original Message -----
From: "Robert Benschop" <rbenschop_at_euronet.nl>
To: <newtontalk_at_newtontalk.net>

rather than line-by-line quote marks (like I'm using). Quote marks, to
me, are much easier to read, especially since many clients parse for
them and color quoted lines differently. Right now, what I'm quoting
from your original looks blue, so I can easily tell the difference
between my text and yours. Also, it's usually a good idea to remove
the 'signature' stuff from the end of a message quote when you put your
message after or within it. It's just a little easier to read.

Don't worry, you made a mistake, and that's fine. Not to speak for
Robert, but I think he'll forgive you. :)

BTW, you may want to use a different mail client it yours has to quote
like that without option. Or you can always write your replies above
the original, but personally I like replying this way. Your choice.
