[NTLK] MP 130: Line-Out hack anywhere?

Hello all,

I'd like to hook MP 130-audio to other stuff. Just hooking a jack to the
speaker doesn't feel very tasty - I think that would give a distorted
signal (from speaker signals being more powerful than what the line-ins of
amps like) - maybe okay for headphones, but... How can a line-out best be
provided?

I've seen a couple headphone and mic hacks (below), but that's all on
MP2xk-machines. Anybody ever tried anything like that with an MP 130?

It's a real shame Apple saved some pence on these interfaces. If they
hadn't, we'd have seen much more folks doing funky audio stuff on the go -
and much earlier and more lively than any of those iBook musicians from a
couple years ago, too.

Cheers,

DJV.

line out att. to speaker. Might be okay for headphones, but for a true
line-out...?

Dave Miller (how I wish MP 130 had the IC-Port with full trimmings!)

and mic from the IC port INSIDE the case and feed that to some jacks. Plus
Yos used a stereo jack, so ONE jack could serve for both functions. Neat
for MP2xk - but how about a MP 130? (Yos also shows a true docking
station-layout for MP2xk...)

http://www.johnskinner.net/newtonhack John Skinner's headphone jack. From
his blissful facial expression I deduct he gets some benefit, but where'd
he solder what to? (Or did I miss something in his describtion?)
