For those using the expense reporting program "Out of Pocket", I have
some good news. First, a little history:
When I had initially purchased the software, I had JB (at the time, he
headed up True North Solutions, creator of the program) code me a
customized expense report template, so that after keying in all my
expenses, all I had to do was print and out came my company's expense
report, all filled in and ready to send in.
Well, my company decided to change the form and by that time True
North's Newton development efforts were closed up. Since then, I
haven't had much use for the program, since I heavily relied on that
custom report, but more importantly, as many on this list have
discovered, there are no utilities to send the data to any modern apps
on OS X, namely Excel v.X, or anything past old versions.
Now for the good news. I tracked down JB, and gave him a call at home.
After apologizing profusely for calling at home and convincing him my
intentions were peaceful ;) he was not only incredibly nice, but he has
agreed to send me the source code files for the expense report
templates. This will allow me to change the template to match my new
form. I would also assume it will allow me to perhaps provide the same
service to those that want custom expense reports as per their
company's template as well, which would be great, and I'd love to do
it.
I await the code, and will keep the list posted. For me, this returns
so much of what I used every day on the Newt... :)
