Re: [NTLK] Must have apps?

The way the Newton is designed, I don't think that
there is a single killer "app". I use the built-in
apps mainly, but I rely heavily on on enhanced
functionality given by third party extensions.
The first thing to get is something that turns on
Freezing. I use a small thing called Options V-3.4. It
adds an "Options" setting to the Preferences allowing
you to change default settings on the Newt as well as
activate freezing.
Another Preferences add-on is TimeStamp. This gives a
date and time selector from the caret pull-down.
Indispensible!
If you print, nothing enhances the recognizer than
alt.rec. There are problems with cursive recognition,
so use at your own risk.
I have so many extensions, I barely recognize a Newt
without the add-ons I have! I also use DashBoard and
find it to be the best thing I put on my Newt.
Granted, I do have actual apps on my Newt (some games
especially) but most of the "killer" stuff sits behind
the scenes enhancing an already powerful handheld!
