For those who are looking for a cheap switch to set up a network that
the Newton can connect to via Ethernet. I use a 4-port Gigafast switch
and it works fine. It has self-configuring ports, so there is no
special 'uplink' port to connect to a cable modem. You can connect
anything to any port. And of course, I have no financial connection to
GigaFast or TigerDirect.

GigaFast 8-port 10/100BT switch for $15 after rebate   10:33 am
TigerDirect.com renewed its stock of the GigaFast EZ800-S 8-port
10/100Base-T switch for $29.99. A $15 mail-in rebate yields a net price
of $14.99 . It's the least expensive 8-port switch we've seen. Shipping
starts around $7. Rebate ends May 31, 2003.
