Shouldn't be a problem, but you will very probably need to reinstall
the OS -- and keep in mind that the new Powerbooks won't boot into OS
9.
Personally, if I were you I'd leave the stock HD in the new Powerbook
and just transfer over all files from the old Powerbook. Connect the
two machines together in Firewire disk mode.
