"The Thing" goes in a small indentation on the door hinge side of the
newton, like protecting the white flat cable for the screen. The longer
"leg" to the back of the newton.

I suppose you'll have to solder the interconect port with a small solderig
iron and use some kind of epoxy to glue its body.
