    It works only in the sense that it gets power to the Newton. However,
the right power is critical when dealing with delicate electronics.
    The Newton power adapters will give the Newton only the power it can
handle. Cheaper (non-regulated) supplies may say X number of volts but allow
a lot more through if the device asks for it.
