I didn't hear of someone being successful with a Toshiba 5 GB drive.
It did not work with earlier versions, it might work with RC3 or RC4.

You can have two ATA cards or one ATA card and a wireless card. My
Newton currently serves webpages wirelessly from one of my ATA cards.
I think someone else is running NPDS with a similar setup.

Type of cards is the thickness. On MP2x00 and MP1x0, you can use type
I and type II cards. On eMate 300, you can use a type I, II or III
card.
