True. Belkin make one, for instance:

However, they're all CardBus (32-bit) cards, whereas the Newt's PC Card
slots are PCMCIA 16-bit slots.

I suspect that, just like with USB and FireWire cards, no 16-bit models will
be made.

There was some discussion on the PowerList as to whether or not the 16-bit
PCMCIA standard even has the required throughput to support 54Mbit 802.11g
cards, but no definitive answer was found. Anyone here know the maximum
throughput of the (Newton's) PCMCIA slots?
