Not a big functionality increase.

Have seen:
 - Some performance improvement running older Palm OS programs, but not a
huge increase
 - PXA250 processor not that much faster than StrongARM in real world
performance
 - Emulator needed to run old OS program adds overhead
 - Much more multimedia support provided

Suggestion - Wait for 6.0.
 - This is a 100% Palm Source effort w/o Palm incluence.
 - Should be available in the next year or so.
 - Looks like a great OS from a OEM and developer standpoint. Don't know
what functionality will be added through apps.

Subject: [NTLK] [OT] Experience with Palm OS 5

I'm a sucker for cool hardware and saw the Sony Clie PEG-NX series at best
buy and it look very slick. Is Palm OS 5 any better or even different from
the previous versions? Or is it effectively the same as what was in my Palm
Vx (which while a pretty device, was functionally useless).

John
