Yes, they'll work together, but doesn't change anything about the dongle.
In this case you'll need to change to Mac serial first and to the Newton
connector after that.
If you don't want the dongle you might be much better off with an Ethernet
card, you just need another Newt or a memory card with the necessary drivers
on it.
