The differences between the two hacks:
Nick modified the battery tray which shipped with the MP2x00s to
recharge AA NiMH cells in the Newt (good if you don't own a battery pack
to upgrade with new cells).
Frank upgrades the battery pack (which already contains temperature
measurement etc.) with new higher capacity cells, the only drawback is
that you have to own one of these packs.
Every method has their drawbacks, I would prefer the pack upgrade, if I
had two of them... ;-)
