Courier definitely requires a significant amount of free memory - both
on the default store, e.g. internal or card, and free operating memory.
I've tried it myself with an unupgraded eMate, and it didn't work most
of the time.

It might be possible to get around this by reimplementing the display
part of Courier (which is based on the NewtWorks text view), but in the
end, a memory upgrade might help with other issues as well. Sorry for
the bad news!
