First you find and start "irftp.exe" on the PC. There, you navigate to
the file you want to send, but don't send it yet. Instead, open the
Inbox on the Newton, and tap "Receive/IrOBEX". As soon as the PC
indicates that there is a Ir device in range by showing an icon in the
task bar, send the file from the PC.

The workaround is necessary because the usual way of sending from the
PC requires that the peer devices listens for a longer time than the
Newton does. The context menu "Send to IrDA recipient" shows up on the
PC only after you have initiated receiving on the Newton. By the time
the menu shows up, you found it and clicked on it, the Newton has
already timed out.

I was looking into patching this on the Newton side, but it is quite
tricky.

PS: It might be necessary to play around with the "Use IrXfer" setting
on the Newton, to be found under the IrOBEX preferences in the Inbox.
