Eight holes in three rows. three holes in the first row,
three in the next row (but spaced like four holes with
the second from the left missing) and two in the bottom.

My dongle has the same but the missing hole in the
second row is not missing to give a total of 9 holes.

I tried plugging a Mac serial cable in (it has 8 pins) but
couldn't get a connection to the Mac. Same cable plugged
in using the dongle works. This could mean that:
1. The port is stuffed inside
2. It isn't a serial port
3. I have to do something to tell the Newton to use this
port instead of the dongle port
4. ???

Thanks in advance for any more ideas,

Jon
