Hello Bill,
I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with GEM, and especially Robin Brown. Maybe you should email them and let them know about your woes and they may do something for you. They told me in the beginning they were not 'educated' regarding these Newtons and our expectations, but they seem to be working towards the goal of communicating the shape of the Newton with their rating systems. Anyhow, I have always found that communication with the person(s) you have the gripe against to be the best action rather than complaining to others who really can't help you at all. Just my 2 cents....

Hello!
I am a new newton user and i stumbled upon this list, seems like an
incredible resource for newton users.

I also purchased from GEM from a person named ROBIN BROWN. This was a while
back before they had their rating systems for the screens and such.

The unit i recieved looked like it had been through the ringer a few times.
The screen had scatches and it was missing clips on the back (i didnt even
know there were supposed to be clips there until reading up on it). It
works but the battery does not last very long and the green plastic stylus
they included with it is not very easy to use. Of course what do you expect
for under $100, as i understand it these used to sell for over $1000 when
they first came out?

Ill have to buy a few things to make this newton complete but i dont think
ill be dealing with GEM anymore.

Does anyone know of any places i can get a new battery, a metal stylus and
perhaps a couple of door clips?

Thanks
McGreger
