I certainly DON'T hate GEM, as a matter of fact I have found them to be very accomodating and fair. Actually, they were the ones who sent me here because I had some questions and said that they have heard it was a great place for Newton people. I don't know what your specific situation was with them, but I would bet it was a misunderstanding. I can't fathom them doing anything horrible when they have been so nice to me.
As for the referral...I don't think it is a good idea, although it would give the list more subscribers...
