The current consumption of the Newton increases if it "works", e. g. if
it does calculations. How much it increases depends of the frequency
of the calculation and how long it takes. I experimented a bit (by
measuring the actal current sucked from the ac adapter) witth misc.
types of calculations and found (not unexpected) that trigonomectic stuff
needed most current, so BattLog calculates a tangens (or whatever that
is in English) like that in an endless loop:

 local dummy := Tan (90);

Of course, there are much better ways to suck a battery dry. Backlight is
one of them, but due to the backlight's limited lifetime this is not a very
smart idea. Another good way would be beaming, but I'm currently not
familiar with what I would need to do to beam in an endless loop without
a second Newton around. If someone here could help me out with a code
snippet that can do that, I'd be thankful if he shared it with me.
