Ok, OK, OK!!!

So I know this question has been asked a milliion
times. But well here it is again:

I am currently using a 3com 3C589C ethernet card to
connect to ethernet here at school however as anyone
who uses this card knows the accompaning dongle can be
a little unwieldly so I have decided o go wireless.

What I would like to know is from board member
experiences what would be the best card for a
University environment?? I have been reading threads
about connecting WavLan to Airport but what if I don't
have control over the station(as is the case). Also,
what about walking from one building to the next and
effectively changing "zones"?? What would be the best
wireless for cross-platforming??? TIA
