[NTLK] large images in newton books

Hi,

I am sure someone here had this problem before. I am trying to put a
large image into a newton book, so I can view it with mapper. I create
the book with newton press on windows using 16 shades BMP files. The
images are bigger than the screen, a big map. When I then load it onto
the newton I can open it but the book looks blank. However when I open
an about window and close it again I can see the part of the image that
was covered by the window. When I then try to scroll it disappears
again.
Since other maps use much larger images it must be possible. I am
suspecting that the image format under Windows might be slightly wrong
and only Apple PICTs will work. Well I am out of ideas.
Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers,
Thomas
