The specific of copyright law is this: the owner of the copyright -- the
right to copy -- of a work is the sole determiner of who may or may not
copy and distribute that work. If you are not the copyright owner, and you
do not have -explicit- permission from the copyright owner to do so, then
you have no legal right whatsoever to copy and distribute that work in its
entirety for any reason. The case I mentioned is an instance of the
Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruling on copyright law.
