Jeffrey,
Make sure you're in Ad Hoc mode, not Infrastructure mode - I made the same
assumption, but in fact if you're using Infrastructure mode (base station),
it will auto-detect whatever channel you have set on the base station. For
Ad Hoc mode, you should be able to change the channel.
