As Victor corrected it, UnixNPI doesn't use Sloup.

And I'll add, AFAIK, there is no existing backup solution not based
on the full Dock protocol (not the package loading thing UnixNPI is
based on or the Sloup protocol or whatever).

Nevertheless, an AppleScript Studio interface or anything else over
UnixNPI is fully possible (it will just install packages over serial
with mnp compression). Grab UnixNPI from
http://unixnpi.sourceforge.net/ and implement it.
