This is very good to hear. I have a friend that runs a foam manufacturing
company and he says that the spray-in foam they are using is much more
expensive than other types of foam...you have to be trained on how to use
it.

Subject: [NTLK] Another Source for Newton 2100's

Hello,

I'd like to share my experience in purchasing a Newton 2100. I wanted a
second unit to use at school. I purchased a Newton 2100 with an Apple 4mb
flash card, battery, ac adapter/charger, and serial cable through eBay for
$152.50. The person selling these 2100's seems to have a decent supply. He
deals under the name "mr2ndhand".

I want to let you know that this was one of the best purchasing experiences
I have had! He was extremely professional and communicated immediately when
I had questions, and made the whole experience feel as if this was a
business person who cared about his customer, products, and honesty.

I received the Newton 2100 this morning. I could not be more pleased. The
Newton is very close to being in new condition! There are no scratches,
marks, dings, anywhere. All parts, clips, and doors are in new shape. The
screen is excellent and the back lighting is as if new. The battery is like
new and holds a full charge. I have purchased 3 other Newton 2100's in the
past that were actually new, in sealed factory boxes from Apple. I am almost
as happy with this Newton as the brand new units, and it only cost $150.

Another interesting part of the transaction is the process the vendor uses
for shipping. I was very pleased when the package arrived. It was
professionally labeled, etc. What was surprising was the system this vendor
has for packaging his products. I have never seen this method before. The
Newton and accessories were packaged in a static-free bag and sealed. What
is unique is the way everything was protected. Mr2ndhand use some typed of
spayed in expanding foam system to surround and protect the item being
shipped. The static-free bag containing my Newton was encapsulated with this
foam (which itself is covered by a heavy protective plastic layers), at 3
inches around the entire unit. It is as if your product is a yolk, protected
by a three inch shell. This vendor must have a serious investment in
equipment to provide this level of protection for his products. He is
obviously cares about his customers.

I wanted others to know of my excellent experience. Purchasing through eBay
vendor mr2ndhand (he has his a eBay store under that name), may be a great
alternative to others who were not able to buy through Mr. Brown on an
individual basis. Take care.
