In a previous message, William spake thusly:

Isn't it though? I have two versions of this book. One is a 1995 edition
that came bundled with the Newton Toolkit hard copy documentation. The
other is the Apple Press edition that you mention. I've been known to
develop user interfaces for entire web sites based on nothing more than
the information found in this book, rather than relying on some other
books purporting to be bibles on "web" design. When these guidelines are
followed, the cleanliness and simplicity of the Newton UI is unsurpassed
among operating systems and other software-based interfaces.

Of course, that's just my opinion.
