NPDS does have it's issues.

However, the latest version of NPDS is 2.042, and many of the other
components have been updated thanks to (who else) Paul Guyot. With a bit
of help from Adam Tow, there is also a new plug-in called NPDS Watcher,
which will restart your Newt should something in the operation of the
server go all cattywumpus.

Make sure to review the various read me files for details on the updates
