Please don't assume that your needs are the same as mine. You may very well not need a 3GHz based computer. Where as I may need that capability yesterday. :-)

Having said that, at home I still use Macs that are 4, 6, and 9 years old so I understand where you are coming from.

But for a moment, imagine where we would be today if we had the original Mac or PC. Would we have the following capabilities that we enjoy today with our current systems? I think not!

Part of life is change...and that will continue whether we want it to or not.

As for Palm devices, it depends on what you are going to do with it. If I want something that fits in my pocket, the Newt 2100 doesn't work well. However, the new Sony Clie (one similar in size to the Visor Edge) works great. OTOH, if I want something that recognizes my handwriting I can use the Newton. Well, okay, maybe a Pocket PC. But definitely not a Palm device.

Bottom line, it all depends on one's own needs.
