Well, there is always Net_at_ddress (usa.net). It is no longer free, and since
it has ceased to be free, the reliability has gone up by appreciably. I use
them, and am pleased with their service. You can either have mail forwarding
to your current isp, or read online or use their pop access. The only
downside is that they don't offer smtp service, which causes all kinds of
headaches for me when trying to use _other_, free services (like mac.com) to
send email. :-) But, if you have a genuine ISP, this shouldn't be a problem.
(I use the national phone company's "free" access to the internet, so don't
have a proper ISP.) :-)
