I'd be interested to hear anything you learn about the format. If it's
simple enough, maybe I add a Mac OS X-compatible book maker to NewTen.
A hex dump of a plain-text book file with some comments would go a long
way.

I was also trying to reverse engineer the book format but had trouble
getting Apple's Book Maker to work at all, even under OS 9. I ran out
of time to pursue it. But I'll happily let you do all the work and just
port the results. ;)
