This is really a strange error.
Du to a shock I would expect that something is wrong with connections:
- on/off switch stuck in on position ?
- ROM-board loose or with bad contact
- or in the worst case that the logic board got a crack and therefore some
connections are broken or not reliable anymore ...

If you want to go back to your backup solution MP130, I do not know if the
32MB cards work, just try it.
But it is not so easy to transfer data from a larger card to a smaller one.
Normally you should have all the packages installed on your computer.
So re-installing the pacages is no issue.
If you perform a backup of yor data only onto a smaller card it would be
easier to restore them on an MP130.

Thats so far what I can recommend.
