I agree with this. Personally I think trying to reinvent the Newton
Hardware is just too much for us to tackle and frankly I'm pretty happy
with the way it is.

I totally agree that focusing on the Newton user experience and trying
to think of a way to actually migrate it to a hardware platform with a
brighter future is the ONLY hope of "new" newtons.

Aside from that, I kind of think the fund idea is out of control. I do
appreciate the ideas, but I am skeptical of the actual process and
personally am more inclined to spend my money directly on software that
I think extends the Newton for me.

Paul, John and Hiroshi(sp?) are good examples of people who are
currently providing fantastic upgrades to Newt and I plan on paying for
both ATA support and for newtSync as well as the Wavelan driver.

I'm already a registered Newtscape user, but would love to pay for a
new version of that too(hint hint).
